It's sooo late and I need to go to bed, but I took a nap and can't sleep....so I figured I'd write a quick update. Life is going well recently, besides being really, really sick last week. Now all is wonderful. Grad school is going amazingly well. I almost forgot how much I love school. It's also a ton of work though. I've noticed myself letting other things slide. School is always my first priority and I get my school work done fine, but I have to start managing the rest of my life as well. Hopefully I'll adjust soon.
This past week was Valentine's, my favorite day of the year. Yesterday we had our JETs Vday ball and it was great being able to get all dressed up. I'll post pictures soon. Also, it's been snowing like crazy here, very unusual for this area. It's snowed over ten times this month! I don't think Ise has ever had this much snow. Last year we didn't get any. Shun says it's extremely unusual. I've enjoyed it though. If I have to suffer through the cold, at least I can play in the snow!
As far as the job search, still no luck. Most schools finish hiring in March, so if I don't find a job soon, I never will. For now it looks like I'll be in Japan another year. Assuming I stay, I'm going to have to set some more goals for myself, finishing grad school being one of them. If I take summer and special winter (over christmas break) session classes, I should be able to finish by summer of 09. I set some goals for this past year and accomplished about half. I travelled internationally alot this year, started grad school, read lots of books I'd been putting off, learned to cook...only a few new things though, etc. In the next few months, when I'm 100% sure I'll be here another year, I'll start thinking of what I want to do my 3rd and definitely last year in Japan.
Pretty soon it will start to warm up and I will begin exploring Japan more. I hope to climb Mt. Fuji this summer, visit Hiroshima again, and go to at least one new place in Japan, maybe one of the other Islands. Anyway, that's all for now.
Oh, one more thing!! Someone, anyone, would you please send me some easter egg dye?? I want to celebrate Easter and teach my students about it. They know about many American/European holidays, but most have no idea about Easter!! So dye or any other Easter related items would be great. Pretty please!!!
I love and miss you all!
